Gaikokan-no-ie (Diplomat’s house) was designed by American architect J.M. Gardiner for Sadatsuchi Uchida who was a foreign diplomat of Meiji Government. This house was moved from Shibuya in Tokyo to here as National Important Cultural Property in 1997. This house is a two-story wooden house with a tower designed in the American Victorian style.
