Osorezan (Ooeym) located at the Shimokita peninsula in Aomori prefecture. It is one of the three Buddhist sacred places in Japan, others are Koyasan in Wakayama prefecture and Hieizan in Shiga prefecture. This temple was built by a monk Ennin (Jikaku daishi) in 862. The name of Osorezan is the general term of 8 mountains around lake Usoriko, too. They are volcanos, and there is sulfurous odour around this area.
