I had been wanting to go to Yoshino in Nara prefecture for a long time, but it is a little bit far from Kyoto and Yoshino is very wide to watch for one day. So this time I planned to leave Nara by the first train in the morning (about 5 AM). Because I arrived at Yoshino station at 7 AM, the cable car didn’t work. So I walked up the steep slope. It was a nice view of cherry blossoms of “Shimo Senbon” (thousand of cherry trees at lower part of Yoshino). At the top of the mountain, there was an old Buddhist temple Kinpusenji that had three famous secret large statues of blue Zao Gongen. They opens the door of the statues during this spring to June.

JR train

I prefer to take a trip by train. This day I planned to go to Yoshino from Nara by some trains.

There were many trains that were waiting for the start at the early morning station.

Enno gyojya

Enno Gyojya. He started Shugendou; Japanese mountain asceticism-shamanism incorporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts in 7 century.

I walked to the Yoshino station to Kinpusenji temple. It was some steep road, called "Nana Magari Zaka" (7 times curving slope).
