Today I went to the Imperial Palace for the new year greeting. As for me, it is the first time to go to the new year greeting. Every year I only watched on the TV news about Imperial family’s greeting, but this year my Canadian friend planed to go, so I suddenly decided to see them.
The Imperial palace, Tokyo
I arrived at the Tokyo station at 9:30 am. From here, it is about 5 minutes walk to the Imperial palace’s park (Koukyo mae Hiroba).
There are many people and policemen before the park.
Many people are waiting to enter.
They gave each of us Japan’s frag (Hinomaru) for free.
Even though the morning, many people gathered.
There are many policemen and their bus in the gate.
Before the gate, we have to be checked our baggage.
After the baggage check, we had to be frisked.
After it fell over like ninepins at New Year Greeting many years ago, police has guided to walk slowly and non-stop.
