I visited the Yushima tenjin shrine at Tokyo for chrysanthemum festival. There were a lot of types chrysanthemums in the garden. At first, they are Oogiku (大菊)that means big chrysanthemum. They are separated some types: Atsumono(厚物)’s diameter of flower is more than 18cm. Kudamono(管物)has fine petal. Ichimonji-giku(一文字菊) is flat flower which figure is like an emblem.

Now that is a festival I could enjoy. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comment. They held the competition, and I noticed that many elementary shool kids took part in.
magnificent display and photos
I think they are a kind of art. Very beautiful.
Wow, they’re huge 🙂
Large chrysanthemum is as big as my face! They seem very heavy.
A lovely festival.
Unfortunately it was heavy and cold rain when I went. But chrysanthemum opened up well.
