The world of “53 stations of the Tokaido road”, Hiroshige and Kunisada. This exhibition was held at The ukiyoe Ota memorial museum of art in Tokyo.
It is a collaboration ukiyoe between Toyokuni (3rd) and Hiroshige (1st) in 1854. Hiroshige Ando (Utagawa) was a famous for his work of the scene of Tokaido road, and Toyokuni Utagawa was good at drawing actor. Hiroshige painted the landscape of Odawara and Toyokuni made women.
This is a place of Ejiri (it is called Shimizu now). It has a very famous legend of a celestial nymph. The landscape is Mt. Fuji and pine trees of Miho.
“Kyo” in 1855 by Hiroshige and Toyokuni. The view of Sanjyo bridge and Mt. Higashiyama. Two men are characters of “Nise Murasaki Inaka Genji” which is a Edo period parody novel of “The Tale of Genji”.
