This woman is Repin’s wife. “A rest” portrait of Vera A. Repina, wife of the painter in 1882.
The man of left is a Russian composer Petrovich Musorgskii (1839-1881). After Repin finished to paiint, Mursorgskii was dead in 42-year-old by alcoholic in 10 days.
