Ine, Japan, Kyoto, photography, travel
Ine is a famous town for their “funaya” which are large cluster of traditional fishermen houses, located in the Ine area of Ine-cho Town, Yosa-gun County, Kyoto Prefecture. The town is located in the northeastern part of Tango Peninsula, and is selected as one of the Preservation Districts for Groups of Historic Buildings. It is considered that the funaya houses have existed since around the middle of the Edo period, now about 230 funaya houses existed. A funaya house is built close to the sea surface of the Ine bay. There are a shipping garage and yard at the first floor, and some rooms at the second floor. Some are used for the residence, dozing room during the fishing or tourist home now. The views of sea from the funaya houses are wonderful. Some movie and TV dramas were set in this town.

What a beautiful place! The tiny rock island and pine, such a classical painting image.
Yes, it is heron (ヘロン).
I think Ine is a wonderful traditional nostalgic place in Japan. Next time I hope to stay there.
