Very nice photos. Visit a zoo is a bittersweet experience for me. At least these animals seem well cared for.
I heard they try to exchange their animals for breeding to other zoos in the world. I believe these animals are took good care of.

I hear that after the World War II many countries gave animals at Ueno zoo i order to make Japanse children be happy to see them; elephants Indira (Mr. Nehru gave her from India) and Hanako from Thailand, and a lion from US, then they gave an enthusiastic welcome. In my childhood, it was a special day for me to go to Ueno zoo.
I love the photos, the tiger shot is my favorite!
